Rev. Erastus Maina
Very resourceful with technical solutions.
I’m a software developer, music teacher, and content creator with a passion for mentoring others. My teaching journey has taken me from traditional classrooms to private studios, where I’ve had the privilege of teaching both children and adults in music, production, and technology. Mentorship is close to my heart—it’s incredibly rewarding to guide others on their creative journeys and help them grow in skill and confidence.
In my church, I lead a team of technical creators to produce content that brings our community together online. I’ve implemented unique technical solutions to enhance our livestream setup, including porting my MIDI application to work seamlessly with broadcast software and integrating NDI for sharing media sources over a network. I’ve also assisted other churches, bands, and media teams with their setups, helping them achieve professional-quality broadcasts. Alongside my technical work, I’ve recorded, produced, and distributed church music with plays in the tens of thousands across platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music.
I’m equally passionate about content creation and visual storytelling, with extensive skills in video editing and motion graphics. I’ve even created ads that aired on national TV! My first dive into programming came through Adobe After Effects Expressions, sparking a love for code that I later brought into software development. While studying at Moringa School, I had the chance to lead a development team in building a sales dashboard for a retail client using Django—a project that deepened my technical and leadership skills.
Working within a church environment, while being an atheist myself, has taught me valuable lessons in collaboration and empathy with people from different beliefs and perspectives. I’ve also been privileged to play live music at some of Kenya’s notable Christian events, including a national prayer program led by the First Lady of Kenya.
Every project is a new opportunity to create, connect, and inspire (I use NeoVim, btw). I can’t wait to bring that energy to your next project. Let’s make something great together!
